About the Role

Newrez is seeking an experienced SEO Lead to drive the company’s organic search strategy across educational, transactional, and authority-driven content.

This role focuses on translating search data into actionable insights and identifying high-intent traffic opportunities that improve customer engagement and retention. The SEO Lead will operate as a strategic search expert, aligning SEO initiatives with borrower intent, financial product education, and long-term customer value.

You will collaborate with internal marketing and SEM teams to ensure that organic search strategies support broader business objectives while optimizing content for both traditional search engines and emerging AI-driven discovery platforms.


Key Responsibilities

SEO Strategy & Content Planning

  • Develop and maintain keyword, topic, and content roadmaps aligned with business goals.

  • Identify opportunities to capture high-quality organic traffic based on search intent and customer needs.

  • Optimize educational and transactional content to improve visibility and engagement.


Search Optimization & Content Structure

  • Implement on-page SEO best practices, including content structure, metadata, and internal linking strategies.

  • Guide content teams on SEO-friendly organization and site architecture.

  • Ensure content aligns with search intent, funnel stages, and lifecycle marketing strategies.


AI Search Optimization (AEO)

  • Optimize content for both traditional search engines and AI-driven answer engines.

  • Support strategies designed to improve visibility in AI-powered search experiences such as:

    • ChatGPT

    • Perplexity AI

    • Claude

  • Identify opportunities for AI citation, featured responses, and authoritative search signals.


Performance Analysis & Reporting

  • Produce monthly executive-level SEO reports focused on business outcomes and measurable impact.

  • Track and analyze organic search performance using:

    • Google Analytics 4

    • Google Search Console

  • Deliver strategic insights that help guide marketing and product decisions.


Cross-Team Collaboration

  • Partner with SEM teams to align paid and organic search strategies.

  • Collaborate with content creators, analysts, and marketing teams to maintain high-quality search optimization.

  • Mentor junior analysts and support the development of strong SEO practices across the team.


Required Qualifications

  • 6–9+ years of hands-on SEO experience, preferably in financial or regulated industries.

  • Strong knowledge of SEO platforms such as:

    • SEMrush

    • Ahrefs

  • Expertise with:

    • Google Analytics 4

    • Google Search Console

    • Website crawling and technical SEO tools.

  • Proven ability to create executive-level SEO reports and strategic insights.

  • Deep understanding of search intent, conversion funnels, and lifecycle marketing.

  • Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.

  • Experience working in financial services, mortgage, or regulated industries.

  • Experience mentoring SEO analysts or managing content quality initiatives.


Work Environment

  • On-site office environment with regular and punctual attendance required.

  • Ability to work occasional adjusted schedules, evenings, or weekends when business needs require.

  • Work primarily performed in a desk-based environment with extended computer usage.


Compensation

Estimated salary range for this position:

$78,800 – $135,120 annually

Compensation may include additional elements such as bonuses and performance incentives. Final salary placement will depend on experience, qualifications, and location.
