About the Role

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Senior Technical SEO Manager to lead enterprise-level SEO initiatives and improve search experiences across AWS digital properties.

This role focuses on developing and implementing advanced technical SEO strategies that support AWS marketing priorities while driving measurable improvements in organic search performance.

As a senior technical leader, you will collaborate with engineering teams, information architecture specialists, and content teams to ensure SEO best practices are implemented across large-scale web properties. You will also help identify opportunities related to AI-powered search experiences, Generative Engine Optimization (GEO), and Answer Engine Optimization (AEO).


Key Responsibilities

Strategic SEO Leadership

  • Identify SEO opportunities aligned with AWS marketing goals and business strategy.

  • Develop and implement scalable technical SEO strategies that drive organic growth.

  • Identify areas where SEO best practices are missing and implement improvements.

  • Stay informed about evolving search algorithms and emerging AI-driven search trends.


Technical SEO Implementation

  • Lead initiatives related to technical SEO optimization, including:

    • XML sitemaps

    • Structured data implementation

    • HTML optimization

    • Crawl efficiency and indexation management

  • Conduct technical SEO audits across AWS digital properties.

  • Analyze website architecture and recommend improvements to enhance search performance.

Enterprise SEO tools used may include:

  • Google Search Console

  • Screaming Frog SEO Spider

  • Botify

  • seoClarity


Testing & Optimization

  • Promote a data-driven testing culture within the search team.

  • Use testing frameworks to evaluate improvements in site performance and user experience.

  • Analyze SEO experiment results and communicate insights across teams.


Data Analysis & Reporting

  • Monitor and analyze search performance using analytics platforms and SEO tools.

  • Provide insights that support strategic marketing decisions.

  • Present SEO performance updates to internal stakeholders and leadership.


Cross-Team Collaboration

  • Collaborate with:

    • Web development teams

    • Engineering teams

    • Content teams

    • Product managers

  • Ensure SEO best practices are integrated into the AWS web ecosystem.

  • Serve as the primary SEO advisor for teams managing AWS digital properties.


Basic Qualifications

  • 6+ years of professional marketing experience.

  • At least 5+ years of technical SEO experience working on large-scale websites.

  • Experience managing websites with 100,000+ monthly organic visitors.

  • Expertise using enterprise SEO tools such as:

    • Google Search Console

    • Moz

    • seoClarity

    • Screaming Frog SEO Spider

    • Botify

  • Experience using analytics tools such as Microsoft Excel or Tableau.

  • Proven ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience running integrated marketing campaigns involving:

    • webinars

    • virtual events

    • lead nurture programs

  • Familiarity with:

    • Salesforce

    • Tableau

  • Experience in B2B marketing, digital advertising, or ad-tech industries.

  • Experience presenting SEO results and strategy to senior leadership teams.


Compensation

Estimated salary range:

$112,800 – $186,500 annually

Total compensation may include additional components such as:

  • equity compensation

  • sign-on bonuses

  • performance incentives.
